My Land Rover Discovery started it’s existence in England somewhere back in 1998. It was shipped to “Land Rover Scottsdale”, in Scottsdale Az. There it was purchased by someone with a dog and perhaps two small children. I can say this because, when I picked up the vehicle ( after purchasing it off an Ebay auction) it had a dog cage, and two indentations on the rear seats that were most likely caused by child car seats. It appeared to have been well maintained by the original owner. Here is a Photo of the Rover when I first bought it. It did not take long before I started modifying it for future adventures. I started by adding Old Man Emu “OME” heavy duty shocks, “OME” Extra Heavy duty springs, OME heavy duty steering stabilizer, 1.5” rear spacers , 32” BFG “MT” tires . These modifications resulted in an overall lifting of the stock vehicle by about 5”. I then installed Hella 500 aux. Lighting with 100 watt bulbs.
Well, the Hannibal safari rack came in from South Africa. I had ordered this several months ago and was beginning to wonder if it would be shipped at all. Well, it’s here now and I am quite pleased with it. It is strong, quiet and large.
